Texans Care for Children brings Texans together for the purpose of bettering children's lives. Nonpartisan, nonprofit, and home-grown in Texas, Texans Care for Children acts as a voice for children, a source on children, and a network for people who put kids first. For over 25 years, the agency has led policy advances to ensure more Texas kids are healthy, secure, and thriving. Through policy analysis, statewide coalitions, grassroots campaigns and research, Texans Care improves conditions for children in the areas of health, mental health and development, poverty, child protection, and juvenile justice.     TX: Texans Care for Children, in partnership with First Focus and MomsRising, hosted a conversation on Twitter (#Kids2012) following the October presidential and vice presidential debates. Texas Care for Children also encouraged Texans to “speak up” for children on social media websites, the Texas Care for Children Blog, and in candidate forums.
  • Texans Care for Children Released Resources to Help Voters Advocate for Children's Health

    Texans Care for Children released a new resource and voter guide presenting how constituents and child advocates can highlight children’s issues during the 2012 elections. The guide offers (1) questions about children’s issues to ask in candidate forums; (2) background on federal programs for kids, including why services exist and how they shape the future; (3) strategies for bringing attention to children’s issues in local state and community races; and (4) ideas on how to make individual voices heard in an election year.
