Achieving Bright Futuresa new resource from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/Bright Futures—provides guidance to insurers, regulators, lawmakers, and other stakeholders on all of the services to be covered in AAP/Bright Futures recommended well-baby and well-child visits. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) recognized the critical importance of pediatric preventive care by requiring that all nongrandfathered health insurance plans provide coverage of all preventive care screenings, assessments, and services recommended by AAP/Bright Futures: Guidelines for Health Supervision of Infants, Children, and Adolescents without cost sharing. Achieving Bright Futures gives detailed information on each Bright Futures recommended preventive service visit—including the recommended screenings, assessments, and services for that visit—as well as the codes used to appropriately bill and pay for those services.
