MomsRising was developed by women to advocate for critical issues facing women, mothers, and families, mobilizing massive grassroots actions to highlight real world experiences. As part of the national KidsWell initiative, MomsRising is working with KidsWell Partners to enhance their social media and grassroots efforts to work toward ensuring all children have access to health care.   • MomsRising Calls on Members to Protect the ACA

    MomsRising: MomsRising called on its members to sign on to a “people’s brief” supporting the ACA in anticipation of the King v. Burwell Supreme Court case. The brief highlights the potential impacts should the Court rule in favor of the plaintiffs, including significantly increased premiums and the loss of coverage for as many as 10 million adults and five million children.

  • MomsRising Hosts House Party with Jill Biden

    MomsRising: MomsRising kicked off its health care house party campaign in Dallas with the help of Second Lady Jill Biden, community college teacher and wife of Vice President Joe Biden.  Fifteen women joined the party to learn about why Medicaid expansion is important and how to enroll in health coverage.  Throughout the campaign, MomsRising will provide toolkits with information on coverage options and enrollment to people interested in hosting gatherings in their communities.

    YI & MomsRising: Young Invincibles (YI), MomsRising, and other organizations will participate in National Youth Enrollment Day on February 15, 2014 to educate young adults about the importance of health insurance coverage and about the new coverage options available.


  • Story Collection Alert! MomsRising Asks About Shopping Experiences on Healthcare.gov

    MomsRising: MomsRising is asking Healthcare.gov users to share their shopping experiences. One user was happily surprised with the experience, stating: “I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but when I got to healthcare.gov it turned out to be very user friendly and it only took me 30 to 40 minutes to sign-up. And that’s because I was taking my time.”

  • MomsRising “Gets the Word Out” on New Coverage Options in California

    MomsRising: MomsRising launched a campaign to get the word out about new health insurance options available in California through the state’s Marketplace and expansion of its Medicaid program (Medi-Cal). As part of the campaign, MomsRising drafted sample language to be used for Twitter and Facebook posts, and emails.
  • MomsRising Launched New Website!

    MomsRising: MomsRising launched a new website, MomsHealth.org, providing information about the new affordable health care options under the ACA. The website also provides informational brochures, a story bank featuring families who are benefiting from the ACA, and a link to the Federally Facilitated Marketplace.

  • MomsRising Responds to Exchange Open Enrollment Kick-Off!!

    MomsRising: MomsRising published a blog post celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the new health care options available to Latinos through the new Marketplaces. The post features statistics about the Latino community, including, out of 48 million uninsured Americans, a third are Latinos and at least half will qualify for financial assistance to help pay for health insurance.

     

  • MomsRising and HCFANY Held Twitter Chat on the New York Exchange

    MomsRising & NY: MomsRising and Health Care For All New York (HCFANY) held a WellnessWed Tweet chat on July 24th to share information about the New York State Exchange’s health insurance premium rates and to answer consumers’ questions about how to shop and compare for coverage once open enrollment begins on October 1, 2013.

  • MomsRising Featured as a Guest during HHS First Google Hangout

    MomsRising: On July 19th Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director of MomsRising, was featured as guest during the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ HealthCare.gov Google Hangout. The hangout streamed a live conversation about new resources available on www.HealthCare.gov and the new Health Insurance Marketplace call center.

     

    MomsRising also held its #Wellness Wednesday chat on Twitter with Enroll America’s Get Covered America campaign. The chat focused on personal stories of what health care coverage means to women and their families.

  • Spring Training! MomsRising and Enroll America Team Up to Hold ACA Trainings

    MomsRising: MomsRising and Enroll America collaborated to hold four spring training webinars through the Get Covered America initiative to review various ACA topics including: an overview of the ACA’s impact on the nation, current and future; how to develop messaging around healthcare coverage; an overview of Medicaid Expansion and Health Insurance Exchanges; and an overview of MomsRising and Enroll America’s organizing strategy.
