The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Leave No Child Behind® mission is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. The Children's Defense Fund — New York (CDF-NY) focuses on creating policy and programmatic changes that will level the playing field for New York's children. CDF-NY’s research, public education, policy analysis, community organizing and advocacy is primarily focused on juvenile justice, health, early childhood learning, education and youth development. CDF-NY raises awareness about the condition of children’s health in New York, connects children and families to health care programs and services that help meet their needs, and works with statewide partners to coordinate support and form policy solutions for health care legislative action.     NY:  Lorraine Gonzalez-Camastra, director of Health Policy for the Children’s Defense Fund-New York (CDF-NY), authored a guest blog post on the Georgetown Center for Children and Families’ Say Ahhh! blog about the important access points that School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) provide to children and youth seeking comprehensive primary health care services.  The blog also highlights New York’s shifting financing stream for SBHCs and the need for sustained funding and growth.
