Children’s Defense Fund - New York

The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Leave No Child Behind® mission is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. The Children's Defense Fund — New York (CDF-NY) focuses on creating policy and programmatic changes that will level the playing field for New York's children. CDF-NY’s research, public education, policy analysis, community organizing and advocacy is primarily focused on juvenile justice, health, early childhood learning, education and youth development. CDF-NY raises awareness about the condition of children’s health in New York, connects children and families to health care programs and services that help meet their needs, and works with statewide partners to coordinate support and form policy solutions for health care legislative action.     The Children, Youth and Families (CYF) Task Force, organized by the Community Service Society of NY (CSS), the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy (SCAA) and the Children’s Defense Fund-NY (CDF-NY), released three Quick Sheets on how the ACA will affect: (1) children’s oral health; (2) children’s behavioral health; and (3) promoting “seamless” coverage.
