Mississippi Center for Justice

The mission of the Mississippi Center for Justice is to advance racial and economic justice. The Center carries out its mission through a community lawyering approach that combines legal services with policy advocacy, community education and media advocacy. The Center's campaigns are creating better futures for low-wealth Mississippians and communities of color in the areas of educational opportunity, financial security, access to healthcare and child care, affordable housing and community development. The Center is working toward advancing access to health care through a community approach that combines legal services with policy advocacy, community education, and media advocacy.     MS: Linda Dixon Rigsby, Health Law Director at the Mississippi Center for Justice (MCFJ), was quoted in a Clarion Ledger article  stating that the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling was good news for the state’s families and children and noted that insurance companies will no longer be able to deny coverage to children with pre-existing conditions.
