SCAA Releases Brief on Childhood Oral Health

NY: The Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy published an issue brief highlighting strategies to improve pediatric oral health. According to the brief, tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease even though it is completely preventable. SCAA recommends implementing evidence-based strategies to address oral health, including: expanding water fluoridation programs; increasing access to preventive dental care; expanding dental services in schools; and developing a public health infrastructure to provide technical assistance and education at the state and local levels.
