CA Advocates for Children’s Health Programs in State Budget

CA: Michele Stillwell-Parvensky, senior policy and communications associate for the Children’s Defense Fund-California, was quoted in California Healthline about how Governor Brown’s revised budget maintains cuts to certain children’s health programs.  She stated, “Even though the state is financially better off right now, there were some programs that didn't get restored. Now that we're doing much better, we have the resources to fund these things."  Children Now released a budget analysis highlighting programs that would benefit from additional funding, including Medi-Cal provider rate cuts, the Early Mental Health Initiative, and the Black Infant Health Program.
